1. Who we are and what this covers

Aurora Tube ("we", "us") provides the Aurora Tube Chrome extension, the Aurora Tube Helper app for Windows, Aurora Pro subscriptions and this website (together, the "Service"). This policy applies to all of them. Aurora Tube is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at officialcontact022@gmail.com.

2. The short version

  • Your workspace (saved creators, categories, bookmarks, notes and library) is stored locally in your browser, not on our servers.
  • Downloads are made by the Helper on your own PC. The address of each file you download, and the cookies Chrome would send for it, go only to the Helper on your PC, not to us. We host no files.
  • Your Download Manager history stays on your PC.
  • We keep a small account record (from Google sign-in) so we know your plan.
  • Payments are handled by Paddle. We never see your full card details.
  • Optional backups go to your own Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox.
  • We do not sell your data, and there are no ads.

3. Information we process

Workspace data (stored only on your device)

The channels and creators you save in Creator Desk, your categories, bookmarks, timestamps, notes, library entries and settings are stored locally in your browser's storage for the extension. They are not sent to our servers. Screenshots, frames, clips and downloaded files are saved to your PC.

Account information (Google sign-in)

When you sign in with Google, our authentication and database provider, Supabase, receives the basic profile information Google shares: your name, email address, Google account identifier and, if available, your profile picture. We use it to create your Aurora Tube account and link it to your plan. We never see or store your Google password.

Plan and usage information

We store your plan (Free or Aurora Pro), subscription status and renewal date. To apply the Free plan limit of 10 video or audio saves a day, we keep a count of how many saves your account has used each day. Ordinary file downloads through the download manager are not counted. We use this count only to enforce plan limits and do not use it to build a profile of what you watch.

Billing information (Paddle)

Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, collects your payment details, billing email, country and any information needed for tax when you buy Aurora Pro. Paddle shares with us what we need to manage your subscription, such as your email address, plan, subscription and transaction identifiers, country and payment status. We do not receive or store your full card number. Paddle's handling of your data is described in the Paddle Privacy Policy.

Files you download in Chrome (download manager)

When the "Download every file with Aurora" setting is on and you start a download in Chrome, the extension passes the file's address (URL), its file name and the cookies Chrome would send for that address to the Aurora Tube Helper on your PC. The Helper uses them to download the file the same way Chrome would, over several connections, and saves it to your Downloads folder. This information stays on your PC and is not sent to Aurora Tube's servers. The files themselves never pass through our servers.

The Helper keeps a download history on your PC (such as file name, address, size, status and save location) so it can show the Download Manager list, Open file and Open folder, and resume downloads. This history is not sent to us. When the setting is off, Chrome handles your downloads as usual and nothing is passed to the Helper.

Video pages you save from

When you press Download, the extension passes the address of the video page and your chosen format and quality to the Helper app on your PC. The Helper connects directly to that website and saves the file to your computer. The video itself never passes through our servers.

Site cookies, only for the local Helper

Some websites only provide a file or video when you are signed in to them. That is why the extension passes the cookies Chrome would send for that address to the Helper app on your own PC, so the Helper can make the same request your browser would. These cookies are used only while that download runs and never saved by the Helper or sent to Aurora Tube. If you continue a download later, the extension reads them from Chrome and passes them again.

Optional cloud backup

If you turn on backup, you connect your own Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox account. The extension saves a copy of your workspace to that account. The access permission for your cloud account is kept in the extension on your device, and Aurora Tube does not keep a copy of your backups. You can disconnect backup at any time.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Technical information

Like any online service, our hosting providers process technical data such as IP addresses, request times and browser type in their server logs to deliver the Service and protect it from abuse. The extension and Helper may also check for updates, which sends basic version information. This website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

4. How we use information

We use information only to:

  • Provide the features you use, such as the download manager, saving video and audio, Creator Desk, capture tools, bookmarks and backup.
  • Sign you in and know whether you are on the Free plan or Aurora Pro.
  • Apply plan limits, such as the Free plan's daily count of video and audio saves.
  • Manage subscriptions, cancellations and refunds together with Paddle.
  • Answer your support requests and send important service messages, such as billing or renewal notices.
  • Keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Where privacy laws such as the GDPR apply, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (providing the Service and your subscription), our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and working), your consent (for optional features such as cloud backup, which you can withdraw at any time) and legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not show ads.

5. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Aurora Tube, and only as needed:

  • Supabase: authentication and the database that holds your account record and plan status.
  • Google: to let you sign in with your Google account.
  • Paddle.com: our Merchant of Record, which processes payments, tax, invoices, cancellations and refunds.
  • Hosting providers: such as Cloudflare for this website, and the server that receives payment notifications from Paddle.
  • Your cloud storage provider (Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox): only if you turn on backup, and only to save your backup to your own account.
  • Authorities: if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users or Aurora Tube.

If Aurora Tube is ever transferred to a new owner, your information may be transferred with it, and this policy will continue to apply to it.

6. Cookies

This website does not set advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. The extension may use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to save your workspace and settings.

As explained above, when a download is handed to the Helper, the extension passes the cookies Chrome would send for that address, so that downloads from sites where you are signed in work the same way as in Chrome. Those cookies go only to the Helper on your own PC, are used only while that download runs and never saved by the Helper or sent to Aurora Tube.

7. Information from Google

Aurora Tube's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs (for Google sign-in and, if you choose, Google Drive backup) adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide the features you request, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

8. Storage and retention

  • Workspace data stays in your browser until you delete it or remove the extension.
  • Backups stay in your own cloud account until you delete them there.
  • Site cookies passed to the Helper are used only while that download runs and never saved by the Helper or sent to Aurora Tube.
  • Download Manager history stays on your PC until you remove it or uninstall the Helper.
  • Partial parts of unfinished downloads are kept in a hidden .aurora-partial folder inside your Downloads folder until the download finishes. Cancelling an unfinished download, or removing it from the Download Manager list, deletes its partial parts.
  • Account and plan data is kept while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days.
  • Daily counts of video and audio saves are kept only as long as needed to apply plan limits and prevent abuse.
  • Billing and transaction records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require. Paddle keeps its own records as described in its privacy policy.
  • Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you, and then deleted.

9. Security

We use HTTPS for all connections to our services, limit who can access account data, and keep as little data on our servers as possible by storing your workspace on your device. The Helper runs locally on your own PC. No system is perfectly secure, so please also keep your computer and Google account secure.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. When this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:

  • Delete your local workspace, download history, partial files, backups and account by following our Data deletion instructions.
  • Turn off "Download every file with Aurora" in Settings at any time so Chrome handles your downloads instead.
  • Disconnect cloud backup at any time, or remove Aurora Tube's access in your Google, Microsoft or Dropbox account settings.
  • Email us at officialcontact022@gmail.com to ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion. We respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct their information, and we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.

12. Children

Aurora Tube is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Service changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you on this website or in the extension before it takes effect.
